This portrait session with Marley was a quiet collaboration grounded in renewal and reconnection. Marley approached me with the desire to re-enter the modelling space after motherhood, and I wanted to create space that honoured both her softness and strength.
The woven basket — I had made for a previous film — it became both prop and symbol: of skill, of cultural continuity, of care. My creative process is intuitive and place-based, weaving elements of craft, landscape, and identity. I’m drawn to capturing people in moments that feel honest, where cultural pride is not stated but simply present — alive in texture, gesture, and gaze.
